Read this:
Eph 5:18-21
18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
NIV
It is talking about being filled with the Spirit of God & things that you can do IF you are & it says to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. It does NOT say “if you are happy with them” or “if you are comfortable in doing so”. In fact it does NOT say “if” at all, and why? Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
However, few people do this for a number of reasons. So what aren’t they doing? Giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ & giving reverence to Christ.
Jesus told us to deny ourselves. So it’s not about you anymore. Therefore if you are uncomfortable then YOU still need to deny yourself.

But denying ourselves is ultimately a joy because we take on Christ, who is our life and our love. It's not a painful thing, except maybe at first when we're shrugging off our own selves.
