Many people are involved in performing Special Education and there are many people who need it and would do better if they got it.

Do they get it?

Well, that depends on how you view it.

Societal standards say the a person can only learn a certain way and they have a level for people to be what they have been determined to be successful. Which is good if a person meets those standards.

But if a person doesn’t, then you just do the best that you can and the standards then determine where that person falls.

Is that the way things should be?

No it’s not.

Why?

Because those standards have been developed by people and people don’t make people-God does.

So what do you think God thinks?

We all know that God created people in His image so is His image that of a failure? No. So are people failures if they don’t meet those standards? Nope, remember their Creator.

So what’s the problem?

Good question. I’m not sure that they have a problem. I think that our Societal Standards are a bit limited but people are fine!

For example, I go to a Sunday School class for disabled adults. In other words these people don’t meet societal standards and they are not welcome anywhere else so they go there.

Do I ever notice that they have a problem?

No I don’t.

They are kind and caring people who are my family. They even call me and greet me. They’re wonderful people!

But, they don’t meet societal standards so do they have a problem? No. Society does. It’s not them!

So now Special Education depends on what standards you are using: Society’s or God’s.
