In this world we view things very differently. We seem to feel that we must be the best.

This morning I went to Church and in Sunday School we talked about that. Then tonight I was watching a show on Food Network called: The Worst Cooks in America and it was about that same thing. Here were normal people who came to this show because their friends or family think they are the worst cooks.

So naturally I assumed that the goal of the show was to help the worst be the best, but I have soon realized that the goal of this show was to teach someone how to appear to be the best!

One by one the people have been sent home as being “not good enough” or “the loser” so I have realized that the goal of the show is to make someone become “the best”.

That’s pretty common in our society. Everything that we do, from our birth, is based on measuring up to standards, societal standards. We have to be the best, that’s how we win. And we must win in Society.

Which is odd because according to Scripture God has given us what we do not deserve. So we know that we’re not the best and that’s ok because Jesus was so we don’t have to be. Which is what faith is all about! However, this world tells us that we have to be the best. So that standard is clearly not God’s and it’s not what faith is about.

So if God is not driving this, then who is?
