Dan 1:9
9 The head of the palace staff, by God's grace, liked Daniel
Dan 1:17
17 God gave these four young men knowledge and skill in both books and life. In addition, Daniel was gifted in understanding all sorts of visions and dreams
It doesn’t say that they had “skills” NO it says that God gifted them…
Dan 1:20
Whenever the king consulted them on anything, on books or on life, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his kingdom put together.
Dan 2:19-23
That night the answer to the mystery was given to Daniel in a vision. Daniel blessed the God of heaven, 20 saying,
"Blessed be the name of God forever and ever. He knows all, does all: 21 He changes the seasons and guides history, He raises up kings and also brings them down, he provides both intelligence and discernment, 22 He opens up the depths, tells secrets, sees in the dark — light spills out of him! 23 God of all my ancestors, all thanks! all praise! You made me wise and strong. And now you've shown us what we asked for. You've solved the king's mystery."
The VERY FIRST thing that Daniel did was pray!
Dan 2:27-28
7 Daniel answered the king, "No mere human can solve the king's mystery, I don't care who it is — no wise man, enchanter, magician, diviner. 28 But there is a God in heaven who solves mysteries, and he has solved this one
Dan 2:30
not because I'm any smarter than anyone else in the country
Dan 2:44
the God of heaven will be building a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will this kingdom ever fall under the domination of another
this is still happening!
Dan 2:49
At Daniel's request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to administrative posts throughout Babylon
I t is very important to note that while all this was happening Daniel still took care of others!
Dan 3:3
all the important people took their places before the statue that Nebuchadnezzar had erected.
Clearly “all the important people” did not believe in God!
Dan 3:7
The band started to play, a huge band equipped with all the musical instruments of Babylon, and everyone — every race, color, and creed — fell to their knees and worshiped the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up
Clearly “everyone” else was worshipping the wrong thing
Dan 3:16-18
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered King Nebuchadnezzar, "Your threat means nothing to us. 17 If you throw us in the fire, the God we serve can rescue us from your roaring furnace and anything else you might cook up, O king. 18 But even if he doesn't, it wouldn't make a bit of difference, O king. We still wouldn't serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up
It is critical that you see that they were willing to even risk themselves by not worshiping the wrong thing
Dan 3:22-23
flames from the furnace killed the men who carried Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to it, 23 while the fire raged around Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
read this scripture again
Dan 3:26
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego walked out of the fire
Dan 3:27
27 All the important people, the government leaders and king's counselors, gathered around to examine them and discovered that the fire hadn't so much as touched the three men — not a hair singed, not a scorch mark on their clothes, not even the smell of fire on them!
What God does will not be obvious to other people…
Dan 4:9
9 "'Belteshazzar,' I said, 'chief of the magicians, I know that you are a man full of the divine Holy Spirit and that there is no mystery that you can't solve
He said: “I know that you are a man full of the divine Holy Spirit and that there is no mystery that you can't solve”, YOU! He gave absolutely NO CREDIT TO GOD but he gave all credit to the human being that he could see!
Dan 4:17
the High God rules human kingdoms. He arranges kingdom affairs however he wishes, and makes leaders out of losers
the “losers” are only losers by the world’s standards not by God’s!
Dan 4:18
I'm sure you can do it. You're full of the divine Holy Spirit
Again the king put his faith in the human being instead of in God!
Dan 4:25
God rules over human kingdoms and that he arranges all kingdom affairs
Dan 4:32
God rules human kingdoms and puts whomever he wishes in charge
Dan 4:35
35 Life on this earth doesn't add up to much
Try telling THIS to others!
Dan 4:37
singing and praising the King of Heaven: "Everything he does is right, and he does it the right way. He knows how to turn a proud person into a humble man or woman
Dan 5:13-14
The king asked him, "Are you the Daniel who was one of the Jewish exiles my father brought here from Judah? 14 I've heard about you — that you're full of the Holy Spirit, that you've got a brilliant mind, that you are incredibly wise
The king referred to Daniel’s supposed skills INSTEAD of what God had obviously used him to do!
The earthly king said:
Dan 5:16
I've heard that you interpret dreams and solve mysteries
Not that God uses you to do anything!
Dan 5:21
God rules human kingdoms and puts anyone he wants in charge
Dan 5:23
you treat with contempt the living God who holds your entire life from birth to death in his hand!
Dan 6:4-5
4 The vice-regents and governors got together to find some old scandal or skeleton in Daniel's life that they could use against him, but they couldn't dig up anything. He was totally exemplary and trustworthy. They could find no evidence of negligence or misconduct. 5 So they finally gave up and said, "We're never going to find anything against this Daniel unless we can cook up something religious."
Religion is considered less important and real than other things. It’s just a “belief” for some people
.
Dan 6:7
For the next thirty days no one is to pray to any god or mortal except you, O king
The king liked this! But why would ANYONE pray to no-god OR a mortal!
Dan 6:10
10 When Daniel learned that the decree had been signed and posted, he continued to pray just as he had always done
He had faith in the God that he couldn’t see
Dan 6:23
The king ordered Daniel taken up out of the den. When he was hauled up, there wasn't a scratch on him. He had trusted his God.
Dan 6:25-26
25 King Darius published this proclamation to every race, color, and creed on earth:
Peace to you! Abundant peace!
26 I decree that Daniel's God shall be worshiped and feared in all parts of my kingdom.
God can’t make this happen so why could a human?
Dan 7:13-14
"I saw a human form, a son of man, arriving in a whirl of clouds. He came to The Old One and was presented to him. 14 He was given power to rule — all the glory of royalty. Everyone — race, color, and creed — had to serve him. His rule would be forever, never ending. His kingly rule would never be replaced.
This is Jesus!
Dan 9:15
Master, you are our God, for you delivered your people from the land of Egypt in a show of power
Dan 10:12
the moment you decided to humble yourself to receive understanding
Hos 1:2
The first time GOD spoke to Hosea he said:
"Find a whore and marry her. Make this whore the mother of your children. And here's why: This whole country has become a whorehouse, unfaithful to me, GOD."
Hos 2:20
You'll know me, GOD, for who I really am
Hos 4:1
No one knows the first thing about God
Hos 4:6
you've turned your back on knowledge
not worldly or Earthly-spiritual and Godly knowledge!
Hos 4:12
People have replaced their God with their genitals
Hos 4:15
Don't go around saying 'GOD bless you' and not mean it, taking God's name in vain
Hos 6:6
6 I'm after love that lasts, not more religion. I want you to know GOD, not go to more prayer meetings
Joel 1:5
Get in touch with reality — and weep!
Reality is MUCH MORE than just what you can see!
Joel 2:13-14
13 Change your life, not just your clothes. Come back to GOD, your God. And here's why: God is kind and merciful. He takes a deep breath, puts up with a lot, his most patient God, extravagant in love, always ready to cancel catastrophe. 14 Who knows? Maybe he'll do it now, maybe he'll turn around and show pity.
Joel 2:31-32
Before the Judgment Day of GOD, the Day tremendous and awesome. 32 Whoever calls, 'Help, GOD!' gets help.
Amos 3:7
7 The fact is, GOD, the Master, does nothing without first telling his prophets the whole story.
Amos 5:10
Raw truth is never popular
Amos 5:20
20 At GOD's coming we face hard reality, not fantasy
This is what God says about judgment day:
Amos 8:11
It won't be food or water that's lacking, but my Word.
Jonah 1:1-3
One day long ago, GOD's Word came to Jonah, Amittai's son: 2 "Up on your feet and on your way to the big city of Nineveh! Preach to them. They're in a bad way and I can't ignore it any longer."
3 But Jonah got up and went the other direction to Tarshish, running away from GOD
Jonah 2:10
GOD spoke to the fish, and it vomited up Jonah on the seashore
Jonah 3:5
5 The people of Nineveh listened, and trusted God
The scriptures say NOTHING about them trusting Jonah-only that they trusted God!
Mic 2:11
11 If someone showed up with a good smile and glib tongue and told lies from morning to night — 'I'll preach sermons that will tell you how you can get anything you want from God: More money, the best wines . . . you name it' — you'd hire him on the spot as your preacher!
Mic 4:2
how to live God's way
Mic 4:12
They don't know that this is the making of GOD's people, that they are wheat being threshed, gold being refined
Mic 5:13
No more worshiping what you do or make
Mic 6:8
God's already made it plain how to live, what to do, what GOD is looking for in men and women. It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don't take yourself too seriously — take God seriously.
Mic 7:2
2 There's not a decent person in sight. Right-living humans are extinct. They're all out for one another's blood, animals preying on each other.
Mic 7:6
Your own family is the enemy
