The Bible is filled with things that are there to teach us but we may not have viewed them this way and that’s because this is my opinion of them so feel free to accept it or not:
Jacob loved Rachel and Rachel loved him. Jacob represents us and Leah represents humans and Laban represents God. Jacob got Rachel but AFTER he got Leah which clearly shows us that our will is not the deciding factor.
Also with the parable about the wise business owner who goes on a trip and leaves his workers with something that they could make something of: God is the wise business owner and we are the workers. He expects us to make something of what He has left us and what He has left us is His word. His word is His instructions and He expects us to do something positive with it-to make it grow. In the parable the workers that did were rewarded and the worker that didn’t was penalized.
In the parable where the father asks his sons to work in his vineyard, we are the sons, the farmer is God and the vineyard is the world and we have been asked to work in the vineyard, some of us may work there and some of us may not.
