Zeph 1:18
18 Don't plan on buying your way out. Your money is worthless for this.

A thing that I want to add but God made this clear too is that we’re all forever beings which means that our debt to our children never ends which makes retirement only apply to this world because we are forever people. Therefore our goal shouldn’t be to pass on our retirement money but a forever life. Money will mean nothing as our life continues but destination will! So while leaving money may be important, it’s only important to this world and our time on this world is very short so our goal should be to prepare our children for forever NOT just life on Earth.

Every human wants validation. And validation comes in the forms such as job title, responsibility and money. The more of any of these equals more validation and the more validation the more satisfied the human is. Were we created to want and need validation? No. We were created to bring glory to God and He developed every day of our lives BEFORE we were born, so do you think that He left out validation at the time He created us? I don’t. So is our need just for us personally or a mistake or lack in creation? I think that it is just for us personally because we are more interested in making ourselves happy than in making God happy. In short it’s us or Him and as humans we choose us.
Joel 2:12-14
But there's also this, it's not too late — GOD's personal Message! — "Come back to me and really mean it! Come fasting and weeping, sorry for your sins!" 13 Change your life, not just your clothes. Come back to GOD, your God. And here's why: God is kind and merciful. He takes a deep breath, puts up with a lot, This most patient God, extravagant in love, always ready to cancel catastrophe. 14 Who knows? Maybe he'll do it now, maybe he'll turn around and show pity. Maybe, when all's said and done, there'll be blessings full and robust for your GOD!

Since the scriptures (the word of God) clearly say the Satan was thrown out of Heaven and given the Earth (the world) to manage then possibly the way of the World is not the way of God. Certainly the way of the world has many benefits that only apply to this world but we’ve been given examples of what God will do for us in the children of Israel.

Picture or just fathom this: you were created by God to bring Him glory and He wrote all of the days of your life BEFORE YOU WERE BORN, so you were planned to be here and what you are here to do is bring Him glory. Him not you. Satan manages this Earth and he will try to convince you to bring glory just to yourself. So who are you listening to?

Jer 33:14-18
"'Watch for this: The time is coming' — GOD's Decree — 'when I will keep the promise I made to the families of Israel and Judah. 15 When that time comes, I will make a fresh and true shoot sprout from the David-Tree. He will run this country honestly and fairly. He will set things right. 16 That's when Judah will be secure and Jerusalem live in safety. The motto for the city will be, "GOD Has Set Things Right for Us." 17 GOD has made it clear that there will always be a descendant of David ruling the people of Israel 18 and that there will always be Levitical priests on hand to offer burnt offerings, present grain offerings, and carry on the sacrificial worship in my honor.'"

4 "Say to them, 'This is GOD's Message: If you refuse to listen to me and live by my teaching that I've revealed so plainly to you, 5 and if you continue to refuse to listen to my servants the prophets that I tirelessly keep on sending to you — but you've never listened! Why would you start now? 6 — then I'll make this Temple a pile of ruins like Shiloh, and I'll make this city nothing but a bad joke worldwide.'"
THIS is what sermons should be about, but they’re not!

Isa 66:18-21
18 "I know everything they've ever done or thought. I'm going to come and then gather everyone — all nations, all languages. They'll come and see my glory. 19 I'll set up a station at the center. I'll send the survivors of judgment all over the world: Spain and Africa, Turkey and Greece, and the far-off islands that have never heard of me, who know nothing of what I've done nor who I am. I'll send them out as missionaries to preach my glory among the nations. 20 They'll return with all your long-lost brothers and sisters from all over the world. They'll bring them back and offer them in living worship to GOD. They'll bring them on horses and wagons and carts, on mules and camels, straight to my holy mountain Jerusalem," says GOD. "They'll present them just as Israelites present their offerings in a ceremonial vessel in the Temple of GOD. 21 I'll even take some of them and make them priests and Levites," says GOD.

Isa 53:2-54:1
2 The servant grew up before God — a scrawny seedling, a scrubby plant in a parched field. There was nothing attractive about him, nothing to cause us to take a second look. 3 He was looked down on and passed over, a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand. One look at him and people turned away. We looked down on him, thought he was scum. 4 But the fact is, it was our pains he carried — our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought he brought it on himself, that God was punishing him for his own failures. 5 But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him — our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed. 6 We're all like sheep who've wandered off and gotten lost. We've all done our own thing, gone our own way. And GOD has piled all our sins, everything we've done wrong, on him, on him. 7 He was beaten, he was tortured, but he didn't say a word. Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered and like a sheep being sheared, he took it all in silence. 8 Justice miscarried, and he was led off — and did anyone really know what was happening? He died without a thought for his own welfare, beaten bloody for the sins of my people. 9 They buried him with the wicked, threw him in a grave with a rich man, Even though he'd never hurt a soul or said one word that wasn't true.
10 Still, it's what GOD had in mind all along, to crush him with pain. The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin so that he'd see life come from it — life, life, and more life. And GOD's plan will deeply prosper through him.
11 Out of that terrible travail of soul, he'll see that it's worth it and be glad he did it. Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant, will make many "righteous ones, "as he himself carries the burden of their sins. 12 Therefore I'll reward him extravagantly — the best of everything, the highest honors — Because he looked death in the face and didn't flinch, because he embraced the company of the lowest. He took on his own shoulders the sin of the many, he took up the cause of all the black sheep.

Isa 29:13-16
13 The Master said:
"These people make a big show of saying the right thing, but their hearts aren't in it. Because they act like they're worshiping me but don't mean it, 14 I'm going to step in and shock them awake, astonish them, stand them on their ears. The wise ones who had it all figured out will be exposed as fools. The smart people who thought they knew everything will turn out to know nothing."
15 Doom to you! You pretend to have the inside track. You shut GOD out and work behind the scenes, Plotting the future as if you knew everything, acting mysterious, never showing your hand. 16 You have everything backwards! You treat the potter as a lump of clay. Does a book say to its author, "He didn't write a word of me"? Does a meal say to the woman who cooked it, "She had nothing to do with this"?

A green Shoot will sprout from Jesse's stump, from his roots a budding Branch. 2 The life-giving Spirit of GOD will hover over him, the Spirit that brings wisdom and understanding, The Spirit that gives direction and builds strength, the Spirit that instills knowledge and Fear-of-GOD. 3 Fear-of-GOD will be all his joy and delight. He won't judge by appearances, won't decide on the basis of hearsay. 4 He'll judge the needy by what is right, render decisions on earth's poor with justice. His words will bring everyone to awed attention. A mere breath from his lips will topple the wicked. 5 Each morning he'll pull on sturdy work clothes and boots, and build righteousness and faithfulness in the land.

6 For a child has been born — for us! the gift of a son — for us! He'll take over the running of the world. His names will be: Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness. 7 His ruling authority will grow, and there'll be no limits to the wholeness he brings. He'll rule from the historic David throne over that promised kingdom. He'll put that kingdom on a firm footing and keep it going With fair dealing and right living, beginning now and lasting always. The zeal of GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies will do all this.
This hasn’t changed!

16 When I determined to load up on wisdom and examine everything taking place on earth, I realized that if you keep your eyes open day and night without even blinking, 17 you'll still never figure out the meaning of what God is doing on this earth. Search as hard as you like, you're not going to make sense of it. No matter how smart you are, you won't get to the bottom of it.

Let’s spend some time on the word normal. Was it normal for God to live among humans? NO. Were the plagues done to Egypt normal? NO. Was it normal for God to lead the Israelites with a cloud by day and fire by night? NO. For the Red Sea and the Jordan to allow the Israelites to cross on dry land was that normal? NO. For Jesus to be killed and come alive was that normal? Is it normal for me to live in an apartment ? NO. So maybe normal isn’t God.

Ps 94:8-11
8 Well, think again, you idiots, fools — how long before you get smart? 9 Do you think Ear-Maker doesn't hear, Eye-Shaper doesn't see? 10 Do you think the trainer of nations doesn't correct, the teacher of Adam doesn't know? 11 GOD knows, all right — knows your stupidity, sees your shallowness.

I have NEVER heard a sermon on this:
Ps 89:30-32
30 If his children refuse to do what I tell them, if they refuse to walk in the way I show them, 31 If they spit on the directions I give them and tear up the rules I post for them 32 — I'll rub their faces in the dirt of their rebellion and make them face the music.

I heard a popular Christmas song today called Santa Clause is coming to town. Now let me ask you: Is it a good idea to make a song about a non-existent person and to say “He sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake”? God is real and He does see you when you’re sleeping and He does know when you’re awake but there’s no song or holiday about Him!
Ps 73:1-5
No doubt about it! God is good — good to good people, good to the good-hearted. 2 But I nearly missed it, missed seeing his goodness. 3 I was looking the other way, looking up to the people 4 At the top, envying the wicked who have it made, 5 Who have nothing to worry about, not a care in the whole wide world.

"Hey there! All who are thirsty, come to the water! Are you penniless? Come anyway — buy and eat! Come, buy your drinks, buy wine and milk. Buy without money — everything's free! 2 Why do you spend your money on junk food, your hard-earned cash on cotton candy? Listen to me, listen well: Eat only the best, fill yourself with only the finest.

2 Chron 1:11-12
11 God answered Solomon, "This is what has come out of your heart: You didn't grasp for money, wealth, fame, and the doom of your enemies; you didn't even ask for a long life. You asked for wisdom and knowledge so you could govern well my people over whom I've made you king. 12 Because of this, you get what you asked for — wisdom and knowledge. And I'm presenting you the rest as a bonus — money, wealth, and fame beyond anything the kings before or after you had or will have."
Solomon did not ask God to make something special of himself for his benefit but he wanted to do a good job for God.

14 "But me — who am I, and who are these my people, that we should presume to be giving something to you? Everything comes from you; all we're doing is giving back what we've been given from your generous hand. 15 As far as you're concerned, we're homeless, shiftless wanderers like our ancestors, our lives mere shadows, hardly anything to us.

God formed you and He formed your brain so there is NOTHING that you can do that He doesn’t already know and He wrote in His word that He can do more than you know. However many individuals think that they are as smart as God. Imagine that: The created thinking that they are as intelligent as their creator.

I can remember this! There are several things that I can’t remember but this I can. As humans every accomplishment is a production and so everything is either good or bad. The problem with that is that we are ALL only actors in God’s play therefore we are NOT the producers and it is NOT our play. The Bible begins with God’s production of creation and as a small part of that we come in as actors to act out what He has developed. Therefore, to bring anything to ourselves is not bringing attention to what He has done.
So think about that. If interest is taken from the real production then the indication is that the real production is not sufficient and in life that just isn’t true.
So think about that. If interest is taken from the real production then the indication is that the real production is not sufficient and in life that just isn’t true.
What you make of yourself means nothing at all to God. He created you, formed you in your mother’s womb, planned your life before you were born and knows what you are going to say before you say it so what you choose to do with yourself is already known by God. It means something to you but not to Him.

1 Kings 4:29-31
29 God gave Solomon wisdom — the deepest of understanding and the largest of hearts. There was nothing beyond him, nothing he couldn't handle. 30 Solomon's wisdom outclassed the vaunted wisdom of wise men of the East, outshone the famous wisdom of Egypt. 31 He was wiser than anyone
God gave him this! Not teachers or colleges or curriculum.

The very most important and hardest thing for me to convey is that while God created the Earth Satan was thrown out of Heaven and given the Earth to manage so while God is still in charge of everything Satan is doing an intense job of running this world! Herein comes our job of choosing God over the world! It is not going well and that is why Jesus came. So the MOST critical thing that we can do is recognize that the standards of this World are not the standards of God and it’s up to us to note the difference and choose to meet God’s standards which are not the standards of this World.

Gen 1:1 - 1 Sam 22:2
So David got away and escaped to the Cave of Adullam. When his brothers and others associated with his family heard where he was, they came down and joined him. 2 Not only that, but all who were down on their luck came around — losers and vagrants and misfits of all sorts. David became their leader. There were about four hundred in all.
David and people down on their luck? Loses, vagrants and misfits? Sounds like Jesus!

7 Samson told her, "If they were to tie me up with seven bowstrings — the kind made from fresh animal tendons, not dried out — then I would become weak, just like anyone else."
Samson was an example of people of today thinking that their expertise and accomplishments will get them more than God could give them.

Josh 7:11-12
11 Israel has sinned: They've broken the covenant I commanded them; they've taken forbidden plunder — stolen and then covered up the theft, squirreling it away with their own stuff. 12 The People of Israel can no longer look their enemies in the eye — they themselves are plunder. I can't continue with you if you don't rid yourselves of the cursed things.
Are we the plunder now?

Deut 15:7-9
7 When you happen on someone who's in trouble or needs help among your people with whom you live in this land that GOD, your God, is giving you, don't look the other way pretending you don't see him. Don't keep a tight grip on your purse. 8 No. Look at him, open your purse, lend whatever and as much as he needs. 9 Don't count the cost. Don't listen to that selfish voice saying, "It's almost the seventh year, the year of All-Debts-Are-Canceled," and turn aside and leave your needy neighbor in the lurch, refusing to help him. He'll call GOD's attention to you and your blatant sin.
None of this: It’s mine! I earned it!
Deut 8:12-14
12 Make sure that when you eat and are satisfied, build pleasant houses and settle in, 13 see your herds and flocks flourish and more and more money come in, watch your standard of living going up and up — 14 make sure you don't become so full of yourself and your things that you forget GOD, your God.

Deut 6:6-7
6 Write these commandments that I've given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you 7 and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night.
Do we do this? NO!

I have a HUGE concern to talk about!
Clearly humanity is represented by the children of Israel and that is why that story is in the Bible. Time and time again Moses tried to teach them about God but they insisted on doing their own thing and God just became in the way of doing what they wanted to do. We are no different than they were. God should be the priority in our lives but other things having little or nothing to do with God take precedence in our lives and God just becomes something that may be socially acceptable but He’s certainly not a priority.

The difference between me and other human beings is that:
I believe that God is in charge. My eternity means everything to me and I wouldn’t risk that for anything! Where I am was not planned for or remembered but it is a blessing from God. I have everything and more.
Other people believe that they are in charge. Other people live for life on this Earth. They feel that I have nothing and what they have changes moment by moment.
I am not saying that you have to change but this is where I am.

Num 11:4-6
The riff-raff among the people had a craving and soon they had the People of Israel whining, "Why can't we have meat? 5 We ate fish in Egypt — and got it free! — to say nothing of the cucumbers and melons, the leeks and onions and garlic. 6 But nothing tastes good out here; all we get is manna, manna, manna."
The riff-raff among the people complained. There will always be riff-raff but God is good.

Ex 16:13-15
13 That evening quail flew in and covered the camp and in the morning there was a layer of dew all over the camp. 14 When the layer of dew had lifted, there on the wilderness ground was a fine flaky something, fine as frost on the ground. 15 The Israelites took one look and said to one another, man-hu (What is it?). They had no idea what it was.
Quail AND manna.

Ex 8:26-27
26 Moses said, "That would not be wise. What we sacrifice to our GOD would give great offense to Egyptians. If we openly sacrifice what is so deeply offensive to Egyptians, they'll kill us. 27 Let us go three days' journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to our GOD, just as he instructed us."
Our worship is offensive to people!

This is the whole story of the Israelites freedom from Egypt!
Ex 4:21-23
21 GOD said to Moses, "When you get back to Egypt, be prepared: All the wonders that I will do through you, you'll do before Pharaoh. But I will make him stubborn so that he will refuse to let the people go. 22 Then you are to tell Pharaoh, 'GOD's Message: Israel is my son, my firstborn! 23 I told you, "Free my son so that he can serve me." But you refused to free him. So now I'm going to kill your son, your firstborn.'"

11 GOD said, "And who do you think made the human mouth? And who makes some mute, some deaf, some sighted, some blind? Isn't it I, GOD?
Don’t ever doubt your abilities when God asks you to do something! That is why I don’t doubt myself as handicapped as I am because it’s not up to me it’s up to Him!

Gen 14:21-23
21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, "Give me back the people but keep all the plunder for yourself."
22 But Abram told the king of Sodom, "I swear to GOD, The High God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, this solemn oath, 23 that I'll take nothing from you, not so much as a thread or a shoestring.
Most people would see this as a good opportunity but not Abram! What people decided other than what God decided was not the ultimate.

Gen 6:9-14
9 This is the story of Noah: Noah was a good man, a man of integrity in his community. Noah walked with God. 10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11 As far as God was concerned, the Earth had become a sewer; there was violence everywhere. 12 God took one look and saw how bad it was, everyone corrupt and corrupting — life itself corrupt to the core.
13 God said to Noah, "It's all over. It's the end of the human race. The violence is everywhere; I'm making a clean sweep.
Thankfully this won’t happen again. Yes things are bad and getting worse and God will come again but there won’t be a flood. Remember, the road is narrow and few will find it…

Gen 6:5-8
GOD saw that human evil was out of control. People thought evil, imagined evil — evil, evil, evil from morning to night. 6 GOD was sorry that he had made the human race in the first place; it broke his heart. 7 GOD said, "I'll get rid of my ruined creation, make a clean sweep: people, animals, snakes and bugs, birds — the works. I'm sorry I made them."
8 But Noah was different. GOD liked what he saw in Noah.

Gen 3:16-18
16 He told the Woman: "I'll multiply your pains in childbirth; you'll give birth to your babies in pain. You'll want to please your husband, but he'll lord it over you." 17 He told the Man: "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree That I commanded you not to eat from, 'Don't eat from this tree,' The very ground is cursed because of you; getting food from the ground Will be as painful as having babies is for your wife; you'll be working in pain all your life long. 18 The ground will sprout thorns and weeds,
See? This is what happened just because they didn’t listen to God! So you had better listen to Him and not Satan!

Jer 5:24-25
24 It never occurs to them to say,
'How can we honor our GOD with our lives,
The God who gives rain in both spring and autumn and maintains the rhythm of the seasons ,
Who sets aside time each year for harvest and keeps everything running smoothly for us?'
25 Of course you don't! Your bad behavior blinds you to all this. Your sins keep my blessings at a distance.

Gen 1:24-28
24 God spoke: "Earth, generate life! Every sort and kind: cattle and reptiles and wild animals — all kinds." And there it was: 25 wild animals of every kind, Cattle of all kinds, every sort of reptile and bug. God saw that it was good.
26 God spoke: "Let us make human beings in our image, make them reflecting our nature so they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle, And, yes, Earth itself, and every animal that moves on the face of Earth." 27 God created human beings; he created them godlike, Reflecting God's nature. He created them male and female. 28 God blessed them: "Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge! Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air, for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth."
29 Then God said, "I've given you every sort of seed-bearing plant on Earth And every kind of fruit-bearing tree, given them to you for food. 30 To all animals and all birds, everything that moves and breathes, I give whatever grows out of the ground for food." And there it was.
31 God looked over everything he had made; it was so good, so very good! It was evening, it was morning — Day Six.
Recreation was a gift from God. This is why we exist! Not to do something that was designed by the World: so they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle, and, yes, Earth itself, and every animal.

20 God spoke: "Swarm, Ocean, with fish and all sea life! Birds, fly through the sky over Earth!" 21 God created the huge whales, all the swarm of life in the waters, And every kind and species of flying birds. God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them: "Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Ocean! Birds, reproduce on Earth!" 23 It was evening, it was morning — Day Five.
God blessed everything at creation.

Gen 1:14-19
14 God spoke: "Lights! Come out! Shine in Heaven's sky! Separate Day from Night. Mark seasons and days and years, 15 Lights in Heaven's sky to give light to Earth." And there it was. 16 God made two big lights, the larger to take charge of Day, The smaller to be in charge of Night; and he made the stars. 17 God placed them in the heavenly sky to light up Earth 18 And oversee Day and Night, to separate light and dark. God saw that it was good. 19 It was evening, it was morning — Day Four.

Gen 1:9-13
9 God spoke: "Separate! Water-beneath-Heaven, gather into one place; Land, appear!" And there it was. 10 God named the land Earth. He named the pooled water Ocean. God saw that it was good. 11 God spoke: "Earth, green up! Grow all varieties of seed-bearing plants, Every sort of fruit-bearing tree." And there it was. 12 Earth produced green seed-bearing plants, all varieties, And fruit-bearing trees of all sorts. God saw that it was good. 13 It was evening, it was morning — Day Three.

We have proof of resurrection in our daily lives right now! When we plant a seed it looks nothing like it will become when it grows, also it is dead but when it is put in the ground it grows (comes back to life) which is unexpected and becomes something totally different from a dead seed. So a seed to a plant is just like our dead bodies which go into the Earth and will become our resurrected bodies which is something that is not expected. I have learned this from the Bible. So during our lives on Earth we a step in our resurrected lives just as seeds are developed.
Rev 21:1-4
I saw Heaven and earth new-created. Gone the first Heaven, gone the first earth, gone the sea.
2 I saw Holy Jerusalem, new-created, descending resplendent out of Heaven, as ready for God as a bride for her husband.
3 I heard a voice thunder from the Throne: "Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood, making his home with men and women! They're his people, he's their God. 4 He'll wipe every tear from their eyes. Death is gone for good — tears gone, crying gone, pain gone — all the first order of things gone."
This is what we’re waiting for!

The One on the Throne will pitch his tent there for them: 16 no more hunger, no more thirst, no more scorching heat. 17 The Lamb on the Throne will shepherd them, will lead them to spring waters of Life. And God will wipe every last tear from their eyes."
I have lived through unbelievable problems, I don’t get hungry or hot or thirsty and I can’t cry.

I had a very difficult time sleeping last night. I woke up and thought about this and couldn’t sleep.
I HAVE NEVER HEARD OR READ ABOUT THIS BEFORE BUT I HAVE READ THE BIBLE SEVERAL TIMES AND IT’S VERY CLEAR!
Jesus told a parable about a man who owned a vineyard and went away (God created the World and was gone.) He sent people to check on things but they were either beaten or killed so he sent his son and he was killed (God sent several prophets but no one believed them and they died so He sent His Son but they killed Him). So the owner cleaned house at the vineyard (each of the prophets told this and the book of Revelation is about this). So clearly we are waiting for the vineyard owner to return and He’s going to clean house.
WHY HAS THIS BEEN IGNORED?

1 John 4:7-10
My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. 8 The person who refuses to love doesn't know the first thing about God, because God is love — so you can't know him if you don't love. 9 This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. 10 This is the kind of love we are talking about — not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they've done to our relationship with God.

1 John 4:4-6
4 My dear children, you come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory over those false teachers, for the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world. 5 These people belong to the Christ-denying world. They talk the world's language and the world eats it up. 6 But we come from God and belong to God.

1 John 2:15-17
15 Don't love the world's ways. Don't love the world's goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. 16 Practically everything that goes on in the world — wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important — has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. 17 The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out — but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.

Don't overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. 9 God isn't late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn't want anyone lost. He's giving everyone space and time to change.

3 First off, you need to know that in the last days, mockers are going to have a heyday. Reducing everything to the level of their puny feelings, 4 they'll mock, "So what's happened to the promise of his Coming? Our ancestors are dead and buried, and everything's going on just as it has from the first day of creation. Nothing's changed."
5 They conveniently forget that long ago all the galaxies and this very planet were brought into existence out of watery chaos by God's word. 6 Then God's word brought the chaos back in a flood that destroyed the world. 7 The current galaxies and earth are fuel for the final fire. God is poised, ready to speak his word again, ready to give the signal for the judgment and destruction of the desecrating skeptics.

Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received! 4 We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you — your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust.

You're not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It's the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. 10 The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ — eternal and glorious plans they are! — will have you put together and on your feet for good. 11 He gets the last word; yes, he does.

Since Jesus went through everything you're going through and more, learn to think like him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way. 2 Then you'll be able to live out your days free to pursue what God wants instead of being tyrannized by what you want.

13 Make the Master proud of you by being good citizens. Respect the authorities, whatever their level; 14 they are God's emissaries for keeping order. 15 It is God's will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you're a danger to society. 16 Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. 17 Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government.

James 5:10-11
10 Take the old prophets as your mentors. They put up with anything, went through everything, and never once quit, all the time honoring God. 11 What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You've heard, of course, of Job's staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That's because God cares, cares right down to the last detail.

James 4:4-6
4 You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. 5 And do you suppose God doesn't care? The proverb has it that "he's a fiercely jealous lover." 6 And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you'll find. It's common knowledge that "God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble."

James 4:1-2
Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. 2 You lust for what you don't have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn't yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it.
