People have a tendency to make things more complicated than they really are and even more intense and difficult to do than they have reason to. And the worst thing is that we think that they are right!

But when we check the detailed facts we realize that they’re not right at all. They’re just making things up and unfortunately looking good while doing it.

God is someone that people really make stuff up about. And I honestly wonder why because the Bible, God’s word (our training manual) is right there and we can read it.

Unfortunately there is a lot of money to be made in making things up. And since money is power people will say anything to get more money.

So I’m glad that I’m poor because there’s no money to be made in that.
Let’s talk about how to become a Christian. I don’t know that there is a perfect way so I’ll tell you how I do it.

You must believe that Jesus came to take your place and became Heaven’s perfect sacrifice for you. You get His righteousness therefore you can go to Heaven and live forever with Him.

The thing that most people miss is Jesus said that you must deny yourselves. That is difficult to do because this World has always taught people that the MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IS YOU! But that’s not true because our Father is God and He’s much more important than us.

Also we are created to serve God and not ourselves. Why else would we spend eternity with God?

It’s not about religious membership or anything else just faith. And faith is much more than just belief because faith without works is dead.

So if you’re ready to put more to it than just belief-then WELCOME HOME!

Most everything that I see is geared to make you look good, make you feel good or make you be good. You, you, you.

As a Christian I already have everything and I need no more so what does that mean?

To me it means that everyone is into themselves and even pure survival is geared to each person, but where is God?

For some Christians having God makes you look good but for others not so much.

But for me God has nothing to do with me. I am for Him. I exist for Him as opposed to Him for me.
As with the Israelites we are no longer in slavery. Their slavery was to Egypt and ours is to sin. They were freed and we have been freed. They went into the wilderness and we went into life. They had many wants or desires and so do we.

But God brought them out of Egypt and into the wilderness and God brought has brought us out of sin and into life.

They had a difficult time in the wilderness and we have a difficult time in life.

Things haven’t changed much. They did whatever they wanted to and so do we.

But God was watching them then and God is watching us now. So let’s not end up like the Israelites. They wanted to go to the promised land and I want to go to Heaven.
When some people read this they’re going to think that I’ve gone way off the deep end but I wouldn’t write something that I haven’t studied, thought about and prayed about first so read on.

First let’s go back to the nation of Israel. They were slaves of Egypt and Moses told Pharaoh to let them go to worship their God. Did they go? Yes. Did they worship their God? It doesn’t say but it does say that they complained a lot. Did they inherit the new land that God promised? No, but their descendants did.

I have no idea what that means to us, but He took care of them and He’s taking care of us so let’s be sure to worship Him with more than our intent.

Things may not always go as we desire but remember we are here for God’s will not accomplish our will.

Worship means much more than church attendance and certainly way more than keeping a set of rules. So regardless of the way things work out you must remember that God’s in control not you. He made this world and He’s working for us.
When reading through Exodus 15-17 this morning to me it became obvious that the Israelites represent the World today.

So much has been given to us already but we want more. Instead of simply being thankful and trusting what God is doing we complain about the way things are and we’re not happy. If we receive the ultimate we’re fine otherwise we’re unhappy.

The big difference is that even though I’m very handicapped I’m always happy because God kept me alive and I don’t know what Hell do next! Maybe something maybe nothing but He’s doing it not me and that is more than enough for me.

How about you?

Are you thankful about what’s going on and where you are or are you like the Israelites and you want more?
